::As a Caribbean island, Trinidad is not a tourist destination unless you're the type of tourist that have an anthropological eye. It does not cater to tourists. It tries though, so I'll give it 2 stars. But many other islands in the Caribbean with less money and resources seem to understand the basics of promoting themselves and developing a tourist outlook in all aspects of culture so that a tourist can go anywhere and get an experience. I was in Jamaica and I went into the country side for jerk chicken and there was a genuine tourist experience. Trinidad has very few safe beaches. If you don't go to those, you could end up dead. Don't go to remote beaches or rivers unless locals that you trust are taking you and it should have other people there too. Port of Spain is a business centre but it's not a safe tourist destination unless you believe that Cinco De Mayo in Panama is also a safe tourist destination.

::A tropical island paradise, 10° North of the equator where the people are friendly and the food is always on point.
Benjamin L Perkins
::Like stepping back in time: Open air markets with so many different smells of food wafting through the air...drums playing...the most kind people...truly memorable!
Krystal Simpson
::I love Trinidad, the food, people and culture. Amazing place to visit.

::Trinidad offers great beaches, waterfalls, views, food and culture. Crime isn't as bad as its made out to be once you know what areas to avoid. Don't visit Trinidad for shopping, as almost everything is overpriced and most places offer lousy customer service.
