  Lots of improvement is needed for the airport like a proper waiting area for inbound flights, greater selection of commercial areas, expansion of the run ways etc. Waited 2 hours and 22 minutes as a citizen returning from an international flight at customs and immigration, which sadly isn’t the first time it happened, was verbally abused by the officers for using any electronic device while waiting in this comically long line which had around two officers on duty. I get that it’s a form of protest but it looks really horrible to any tourist more or less a national. Buck the hell up. Additionally I was forced to answer ridiculous questions about my iPad and phones, apparently they were under the impression I brought them while traveling away and that was taxable and I had to prove it wasn’t so as I explained to the guy how can I prove that this 1 year old iPad isn’t new? I mean I have porn on it that was put there like four months prior. To which the lady was like “Sir, go ahead we have no time for this headache.”

  It sucks. 50% of parking is for vip but only 3% was occupied. Parking was stressful....the food court had NO options in the night. As the main stop for tourists to enter the country, I expect better quality and service and as a Trinidadian I think we deserve better

  Only appreciable thing here is the decent WiFi. If you have a layover longer than an hour... be prepared to deal with security. I had a 10 hour layover and every time I found a nice spot to sit, they would come and move me. Not to mention, it wasn’t the friendliest interaction. Most of the staff in fact have just been rude.

  The immigration section of the arrival area is a very large area and there were quite a few immigration officers so even though there were a lot of people to attend to, we were served very quickly. Next we existed the immigration department and there was a booth where we were able to change our currency to the local currency which was quite convenient. Our next stop was the duty free shops that sold a variety of awesome stuff like alcohol, perfume, jewelry etc. then onto the customs area.

  Food choices are limited to the area before security. Once you pass security the pickings are slim. The staff was very helpful and friendly. International arrivals duty free area has a large selection of liquor and fragrances. Liquor prices were decent but the fragrance prices were not any better than department store prices in the US. Hardly worth it unless you forgot to bring a present for someone special.
