::Upon arrival friendly Immigration Officers. Long ques. Basic amenities present. Functional. Relatively clean. Food options available. Friendly and informative Tourism office on site which is a good starting point while you snack on a Subway sandwich. $TT 4.00 for AC bus to Port of Spain, UBER or Taxi. Upon departure same friendly officers, most food options before security after that only few choices. Easy to navigate airport.

::Sufficient parking for over 300 vehicles, washrooms cleaned regularly lots of food just the preparation staff at royal castle fast food outlet horrible, they are more concerned about gossip and not getting the customers food to them. The officers on duty are very nice kind and willing to help where ever they can and to the employees at airport information booth smile customer service it's your job.

::The immigration section of the arrival area is a very large area and there were quite a few immigration officers so even though there were a lot of people to attend to, we were served very quickly. Next we existed the immigration department and there was a booth where we were able to change our currency to the local currency which was quite convenient. Our next stop was the duty free shops that sold a variety of awesome stuff like alcohol, perfume, jewelry etc. then onto the customs area.

::Food choices are limited to the area before security. Once you pass security the pickings are slim. The staff was very helpful and friendly. International arrivals duty free area has a large selection of liquor and fragrances. Liquor prices were decent but the fragrance prices were not any better than department store prices in the US. Hardly worth it unless you forgot to bring a present for someone special.

::This airport is not well designed in my opinion. First of all, there is no food court. The only seating accommodation available is inside Royal Castle Restaurant. Otherwise, there is no descent seating inside the airport building to eat unless you choose one of the booths outside if the weather permits. Passed immigration and security, there is no restaurant upstairs except for a couple of snack shops. Truly not the standard as an international airport. Not good news too for incoming passengers. The wait is normally at least an hour even though there are maybe more than a dozen immigration officers at a time. This is so every time upon entry. It’s more frustration at the customs luggage checkout. I heard a uniformed worker, apparently directing traffic, scolding at whom appears as local. I had my share too, when I asked the same woman what constitutes a Green Line and a Red Line. The answer was: “You know what you get into, so face the music”. Horrible experience. Like they don’t need tourists in the island.
