Love Pizza Boys Piarco. Excellent Pepperoni Pizza and to die for Buljol (saltfish) and fry bake for breakfast.

As a disclaimer, before I start this review I would like to say that I ate here while vacationing to Trinidad. I do not come here on a regular basis and this was my first meal upon arriving on the island. These factors will likely contribute to my opinions and overall experience. This venue is located in the airport food court as you're exiting. Many people were already seated enjoying their meals so there wasn't any line ahead of me. My cousin was picking me up soon so I figured I'd grab a quick bite to eat while I wait. I remembered Pizza Boys was always a pleasant experience growing up. Approaching the Pizza Boys counter, I was told I would have to wait 15-20 minutes for a pizza. Against my better judgement I decided to order and wait. I ordered two pizzas. Looks like they weren't exaggerating about the wait - the pizzas took a solid 20 minutes before they were ready. And here's where the story takes a turn for the worst. What I received was something I could improvise in the kitchen in a few minutes. The pizza was basically a piece of burnt bread, lightly covered in tomato sauce, sprinkled with bits of cheese and a few pieces of pepperoni. If I wasn't so hungry, I definitely would have thrown it away. It tasted as expected - cheaply made pizza. Edible but not appetizing. For the record, I was warned about the long wait so I'm not upset about that. However if you take that long to prepare a pizza, I would expect a certain level of quality to be present. As far as cost, what I paid for the pizza translated to roughly $4 USD. Looks like I almost got what I paid for. While this could be a good option for desperate pizza lovers, my advice is to literally turn around and pick any of the other surrounding venues.
