Great place for families! Must visit all the animals. If you ate lucky, you may capture a capuchin monkeying around with a hard nut.

I hadn't been to the zoo in years and I was pleasantly surprised to see all the new animals added and improvements made to the place. The animals looked well taken care of. The highlight for me was getting to feed the giraffes! It took us a few hours to tour the entire zoo. It was a fun day.

Small cages... lonely and sad looking monkey. The chimpanzee stood in the corner, back turn clearly depressed. The bird cages are not high enough to allow flight. Very sad and numbing experience. Just awful inhumane condition. They need an up grade.

Great improvements recently to the Zoo in terms of infrastructure and attractions have made my visit fun and exciting. The new enclosures and feeding of the Giraffes added extra excitement for my kids as opposed to when I visited as a child. There was also easier access to food/snacks as well as drinks with the new canteen, in addition to the previous shops at the entrance. There is secure and adequate parking that eases one's mind while enjoying the sites. The final mention was the opening of a play area for the kids, where they can play as well as have access to bouncy castles and slides. Excellent place to take the entire family on a Sunday afternoon.

There is definitely some good investment of resources there but I'm wondering if it's giving the desired yield. The fee for entry was surprisingly low compared to certain other zoos I've visited outside Trinidad. There were a moderate number of animals looking pretty tired and in need of some exercise. Kids have a good place to play at bouncing castles and slides. There's also some more nice scenery in the grounds of the zoo for picnic and such functions.
